Wattpad, the international literature platform, is known for its fanfiction and original novels. It was built to destroy the barrier between readers and writers. Multiple Wattpad Books have been turned into movies and series.
The breach was to an app known as Wattpad. Wattpad has thousands of users all around the world, and many of the users were concerned by the violation. Wattpad collects certain personal information on its users, but not a lot.
Wattpad did not disclose how the breach occurred. It did say that the violation did not affect any identifiable information on the customer. The leaked data included:

This breach occurred in July 2020.
The breach impacted anyone who joined Wattpad before 2017. Anyone who joined after that or changed their passwords after June 2020 was unaffected by the breach.
The number of files impacted by the breach is unknown. However, we know that no credit or debit card information was affected in the breach, nor were any plain-text passwords stolen. “Wattpad does not store plain text passwords, and Wattpad passwords use encryption,” Wattpad stated on their website. “User stories, purchased stories and chapters, private messages, and phone numbers were NOT part of this incident. Additionally, our investigation has not identified any signs that financial or payment information was involved.”
