Date: April, 2022US Vision is a department store vision chain that sells in J.C. Penny, Meijer, and even the Army & Airforce Exchange Service. It is also a subsidiary of Refac Optical Group with over 350 locations.

The breach was a hack into U.S. Vision’s internal systems. These types of hacks happen more often than you think. While the most common type of hack is a phishing scam, there are a lot of times when companies find out about hackers in their systems, sometimes months or even years later.

The U.S. Vision breach occurred when an unauthorized third party accessed the firm’s internal systems. The company noticed suspicious activity in its systems on May 12th, 2021, and began its investigation soon after.
