The breach occurred when a then-current employee downloaded a report that contained sensitive employee data. When the data breach was discovered, Booz Allen Hamilton fired the employee. However, we are unaware of whether or not the individual retained access to the data.
This breach occurred on April 14th, 2022.
The breach impacts Booz Allen Hamilton employees. At the time of the breach, Booz Allen Hamilton employed about 27,000 individuals. Luckily, customers were unaffected by the breach, which gave the victims little comfort. If the hacker chose to, they could effectively destroy these individuals’ credit and, if they were skilled enough, their futures.
